Avahana seeks to support and nourish the spiritual lives of individuals, families and communities through "avahana"—invoking the Divine through sacred ritual, devotional chanting, yoga sadhana, spiritual counseling and scriptural guidance. We strive to preserve the living tradition of Sanatana Dharma, and teaching in a caring way that is accessible to all.

Naren K. Schreiner
Naren has been a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda for over thirty years. After living as a monk in the SRF Ashram for fourteen years, he continued his religious vocation of service and spiritual support to individuals, families, and communities throughout the US and Mexico. An ardent devotee of Divine Mother Kali, he was ordained as a Hindu priest at Kali Mandir in 2012, which enabled him to serve the community and conduct weddings and other ceremonies. As spiritual director of Centro Jamadi, he helped establish and continues to serve Mexico's first Hanuman Mandir and Ram Mandir. He serves as Chair of the Spiritual Life Council for Song of the Morning in Michigan. Sacred music is an important part of his life and worship. He started Sangita Yoga to teach chanting and has recorded five albums, much loved by devotees worldwide, available on all music platforms.

Lopamudra Bose
Born in Kolkata, India, Lopamudra grew up immersed in her heritage of worshipping the Divine. She earned a degree in philosophy from the University of Calcutta before moving to San Diego to raise her family and pursue a career in design. Continuing her lifelong devotion to Sanskrit chanting, mantra, and puja, she received Kriya Yoga initiation in Paramahansa Yogananda's path and served SRF for many years. As a founding teacher at Centro Jamadi, she helped design and establish the Hanuman and Shiva temples. She serves on several committees at the Song of the Morning community in Michigan. From her home in San Diego, she continues to guide seekers of all ages and backgrounds, maintaining a shrine where local devotees gather to worship an awakened image of Divine Mother Kali.
